Wearbest Sil - Tex Mills is the rare American textile manufacturer that has a four generation legacy: Founded in the 1940’s by Philip Gasner and his son Meyer. Third generation Irwin has been President since 1980 with his son Ari joining the family business in October 2009 as Executive Vice President.
After the great Passaic, NJ fire of 1985, we emerged as the industry acknowledges us today "a style and trend leader". This is a well earned reputation as we are the recipients of more Decosit trend awards than any other American mill. Most recently we won the A.S.I.D Earth Minded award for Bella~Dura® as the first truly environmentally friendly indoor /outdoor performance fabric.
We continue to produce in our state of the art weaving mill in Garfield , N.J. a scant 30 minutes outside of midtown Manhattan.
Today we continue to lead the markets with design leadership and creativity in all the markets we serve;
Contract: Bella~Dura®, B-D Healthcare®, Novelty constructions. A large range of high abrasion pre - and post consumer polyester products
Residential: Bella~Dura® - polyester, Mercerized cotton, Novelty constructions viscose and going back to our roots fabrics of 100% silk and silk blends.
Hospitality: Novelty polyester constructions and drapery
Healthcare: Bella~Dura®, B-D Healthcare® and Crypton®
Our fabrics have graced the White House, homes of Presidents, television, Broadway, fine hotels and prestigious installations the world over.
